Experimental Study on Evaporation Characteristics of Light Cycle Oil Droplet under Various Ambient Conditions

The authors conducted droplet evaporation experiments of light cycle oil (LCO) at various ambient temperatures and pressures. Five kinds LCO three arranged fuels were used. We investigated the characteristics relationships between cetane index. In addition to that, a surrogate fuel composed four chemical species, which can simulate LCO, was suggested. Experimental results show that differences in lifetime species become larger with decreasing temperature. This is because low volatile component made rate outstandingly slow It found relationship late-stage distillation temperature becomes stronger high pressure. By an analysis employing properties fuel, it clarified mass smaller than internal diffusion, condition similar test.
